Concierge security is the post where hospitality and access control are the same job. Residents, guests or clients should be recognised and helped. People who do not belong in the building should not be waved through because the officer was trying to be nice. Professional Security Services Ltd provides that cover across the West Midlands.
Residential buildings and front desks
In a block of flats the officer is often the only person a resident sees. They take parcels within the rules you set, call lifts, watch the door, and deal with someone who is trying to tailgate. They are not a general building manager. Repairs, rent and neighbour disputes stay with you unless you have written a specific task into the brief.
The same style of officer works in some hotel lobbies and in corporate receptions where the brand of the building matters as much as the lock. Tell us which audience walks through the door. A resident who lives there is not a hotel guest, and the manner should reflect that.
Where this is requested
We are asked for concierge-style cover in Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and other towns where there are managed residential buildings or staffed lobbies. Mobile patrols can sit outside the staffed hours so the door is not the only measure overnight.

Questions
Is concierge security a security role or a reception role?
It is a security role with a hospitality brief. If the post includes licensable activity, the officer needs the appropriate SIA licence. We will match the person to the actual duties.
Can you staff a reception overnight?
Yes, if you want a night concierge or night security presence. Tell us what they are expected to do when the building is quiet.
Do you provide porters and front-of-house teams as well?
We provide concierge security officers. We do not supply a separate hotel porter or housekeeping service.
