Hotel security has to protect guests without making the lobby feel hostile. People are arriving with luggage, asking for directions, and sometimes coming back late. Professional Security Services Ltd provides officers who can work in that setting for hotels across the West Midlands.
Lobby, door and overnight
A daytime or evening officer is usually there to watch the entrance, support reception when a guest or visitor becomes difficult, and keep non-residents out of floors they should not be on. An overnight officer is a different post: fewer people, more attention on doors, car parks and anyone who is not booked in. We will ask which of those you need rather than selling a single hotel package.
We do not fit CCTV systems. If the hotel already has cameras, the officer can follow your monitoring instructions. Keys for plant rooms, conference floors or empty guest floors can sit with our key holding service where you do not want a duty manager called out every time.
Functions inside the hotel
Weddings, conferences and ticketed nights in a hotel bring a second audience into the building. The lobby officer and the event team need to know who is responsible for the function room and who is responsible for residents. We can supply event security for the function and a separate presence for the hotel entrance when both are required.

Officers who understand that residents are still trying to sleep above the function room.

Checks of external doors, loading areas and guest parking when that is part of the shift.

The officer supports your team. They do not replace the night manager unless you have asked them to take on a defined task.
Questions
Is hotel security the same as concierge security?
They overlap. Hotel security is aimed at guest safety and the building. Concierge security is the more hospitality-led post you also see in residential buildings and some lobbies. Read our [concierge security](/concierge-security) page if the role is as much about greeting as it is about refusals.
Can you cover a hotel only on Friday and Saturday nights?
Yes. Give us the hours, the number of officers and what you want them to do. Regular weekend cover is easier to staff well than a single call on the night itself.
Do your officers deal with medical emergencies?
They will raise the alarm, help control the scene and follow the hotel’s emergency procedure. They are not a substitute for the emergency services or for trained medical staff.
